Launched in 2023, the Madera coffee table was an exciting project that required meticulous attention to detail in texturing, material accuracy, and scene composition. The project involved extensive back-and-forth with the design team to precisely recreate the wooden legs without a physical sample, ensuring the grain flowed correctly across UV-unwrapped surfaces while accurately depicting the layered plies and veneer construction.
This suite of images was created for the product launch, focusing on digital promotion and website visuals. Given Madera’s status in the collection as a furniture piece, extra care was taken to align it with a broader design language. In-situ shots placed the table alongside classic design staples such as the Casino Chair while incorporating 2023 trends like rattan and bouclé to enhance its aspirational appeal.
Key visual elements included capturing the glass edge with accurate refraction, refining the sheen and depth of texture on the wooden legs, and highlighting how the grain behaved differently in the black version, where reflections created a more disruptive pattern. I also focused on crafting realistic carpets to complement the styling.
All elements were modeled and composed in 3ds Max and rendered in F-Storm, resulting in a refined visual set that balanced design storytelling with technical precision.
